Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: August 20, 2026. Subscribers pay for the editorial. A small number of links pay us a commission. Neither one buys a mention.
How Case Distillery makes money
Two sources, in this order of importance:
- Paid subscriptions. This is the business. Readers pay for the daily case, and that revenue funds the editorial work.
- Affiliate commissions on a small number of tools we run ourselves, listed below.
We are not sponsor-funded. There are no paid case study slots, no "this issue brought to you by", and no way to buy your way into an issue. If a company wants coverage, the only route is to be a genuinely interesting operator case, and we don't take money for that.
Which links pay us
We disclose these individually rather than hiding behind a generic notice:
- LLMRelay — the API relay that runs the AI side of this publication. Links to it on our Stack page are referral links, and we may earn credit or commission if you sign up and top up through them. We also operate LLMRelay, so this is a related-party link, not an arm's-length affiliate deal. We say so on the page.
- AgentValet — the automation system that runs the pipeline. This is our own product, not a third-party affiliate relationship. When we link it, we are selling you our own service.
Beyond these, individual issues occasionally link to a tool the featured operator uses. Those are plain links unless the page says otherwise. Most tools mentioned in our case studies pay us nothing.
What that money does not buy
- It does not pick the cases. Cases are selected because an operator published real numbers and a replicable mechanism, not because of a commercial relationship with any vendor in the story.
- It does not change the numbers. Revenue, cost and growth figures in an issue come from the operator's own published statements, with the source cited in the issue.
- It does not soften a verdict. Where an operator's approach is fragile or their moat is weaker than they think, we say so. That is most of the value of the format.
- It does not change your price. Affiliate links pass through to the vendor's own published price.
Related-party interests, stated plainly
Case Distillery, LLMRelay and AgentValet are operated by the same company. When we recommend our own tools, we are not a neutral reviewer, and you should read those recommendations with that in mind. We would rather state this bluntly than let you discover it later.
How paid links are marked
Commercial outbound links carry rel="sponsored nofollow" or are routed through a /go/ redirect, and the page carrying them states the relationship in the surrounding text. If you find a commercial link on this site with no disclosure, email us and we will fix it.
