SEO Agency Case Study: $763K After 29 Months Stalled

Aug 21, 2026·2 min read

Most agency growth content sells you the first four months. This SEO agency case study is about the twenty-nine that followed, and why the boring middle is where the actual business got built.

The case at a glance

He runs Symphony Advertising, a three-service shop for small businesses: Google Ads management, Meta Ads management, SEO. Anything else gets declined outright. Started March 2020, the exact month every local business got shoved online. Distribution is his own face on camera, mostly TikTok now, plus Instagram, Facebook, and a filled-out Google Business Profile. Stack cost is near zero: phone camera, free social accounts, a domain, Stripe invoicing. Net profit was asked in the thread and never answered.

What this Google Ads and SEO agency is actually selling

The product isn't ad management. The product is being the retrievable answer.

Read the last line of his own post, the one he buried at the end of a list. Asked where clients come from now, he writes: TikTok, then word of mouth and referrals and existing upgrades, then "seo/chat gpt." He is already closing paying clients through model recommendations and he treats it as an afterthought, because he thinks he's in the ad business.

Ad management is the line item generative tooling is eating fastest. What doesn't go to zero is being nameable: one company name used consistently, one specific face, five years of public output, attached to three narrow services. When a small business owner asks a model who should run their Google Ads, the operators who win are the handful the model can actually name. You become nameable exactly the way he did by accident — narrow, loud, and everywhere for years.

Which reframes the whole chart. The years one through three plateau at $5,677/mo wasn't a sales problem, it was a network tax: referrals cap your revenue at the size of your address book. Content inverts that. The audience is the asset, and the agency is just how he monetizes it this year.

He built an AI-proof distribution asset while thinking he was building an ad agency.
